Uber comes highly recommended since their rates are so cheap in and around Downtown St. Pete. SuperShuttle or ExecuCar are decent options if you are just looking for a lift from Tampa International Airport (TPA) or St. Pete-Clearwater International (Pie) to Downtown St. Pete. ExecuCar also does a point to point service if you want to get dropped-off for dinner, a concert, or a baseball game during your stay in St. Pete. A limo may also be a great idea for a night out in St. Petersburg if you want to check out those places further from downtown or near St. Pete Beach.
I barely considered the need for a taxi during any of my trips to St. Petersburg since my car remained parked and I usually walked and used the 50 cent Central Avenue Trolley. When I did some research online, not a single “Taxi Service” based on reviews were consistently recommended.
SuperShuttle from TPA to St. Petersburg
From Tampa International Airport (TPA), SuperShuttle is probably your best value to St. Petersburg if you’re flying solo and don’t mind riding with others. For about $27, they’ll pick you up in the shuttle area of TPA and drop you at your hotel in St. Pete.
ExecuCar from TPA or PIE to St. Petersburg
From Tampa International Airport, ExecuCar is probably your best value for getting to downtown St. Petersburg if you’re traveling with others. Up to 3 people can get to St. Petersburg for about $50 or up to 5 people can get to The Burg for about $60. From St. Petersburg-Clearwater International (PIE), ExecuCar has a “Business Express Service” for up to 4 people for only $35. If you’re looking for an upgrade from Uber or don’t feel like using the Central Avenue Trolley, ExecuCar also has a point to point service if you want to get dropped-off for dinner, a concert, or a baseball game during your stay in St. Pete.
Limo in St. Petersburg
If you are heading to a Rays game or a concert, you could consider a limo but probably not necessary if you are staying at a hotel in the burg. On the other hand, a limo may be a great idea for a night out in St. Petersburg if you want to check out those places further from downtown or near St. Pete Beach.
Uber St. Petersburg
It seems Uber has basically taken over St. Petersburg and any cab company that thought they may be able to succeed in St. Pete may soon have to close up shop. If you’re staying in Downtown St. Pete, you should be able to get around pretty well for $10 or less per ride even if you go beyond the downtown area of St. Petersburg.
